Welcome to the first Beastbound devlog. The goal here is simple: publish a regular, honest look at what's moving, what's broken, and what we just shipped. No marketing varnish — just the work.
Combat Pacing
We spent the last sprint entirely on combat pacing. The previous build rewarded whoever mashed the fastest — combos won by raw input rate, not by reads or positioning. This sprint we rebuilt the priority system: faster moves recover later, slower moves carry more frame advantage, and parries now cost a small chunk of stamina. The result is rounds that breathe instead of blur.
Talent System
The old talent tree had three branches and a single capstone each. Players locked into a build week one and never revisited it. The new tree has six branches with two choices per tier and a small number of broad capstones. We want every choice to feel like a commitment — not a spreadsheet decision you'll regret at level 30.
We want every choice to feel like a commitment.
Next sprint we're turning to the arena lighting pass and the spectator camera. Devlog #02 lands in two weeks.
